Willy Wonka Experience:
How Audrey Signs would have saved the day with Experiential Graphics Design
I’m sure that by now, most of us have heard about the fiasco that happened in Glasgow last weekend. For those who haven’t, the event company "House of Illuminati" hosted an event called "Willy’s Chocolate Experience" in Glasgow on February 24th and 25th. The AI-created marketing posters/graphics built high expectations for children and parents, only for there to be a huge letdown upon actually experiencing the event in person. For a comparison between the marketed posters and the actual event, please click here.
How could things have been different? Time constraints, budget limitations, a lack of a design team, and/or simply an absence of care (we will give the event organizers the benefit of the doubt and disregard this as a factor for this blog post) are all different variables that could have impacted the outcome of the event. If it wasn’t obvious from the title, we at Audrey Signs would have utilized experiential graphic design to create a stunning event despite the listed factors. Our team of graphic designers would have handled all the design work for the client, which probably could have allowed them time to write a script for their actors themselves, as opposed to relying on AI. With our state-of-the-art machines, we would then print out the designs to cover the floors and walls in graphic vinyl, which is quick to install/remove and budget-friendly as well. Check out how we use graphic vinyl to quickly and affordably transform the spaces that have been provided to us:
Transforming the Front Desk of I know NIGO x Victor Victor Pop Up with Vinyl
Vinyl Transformed Wall of Shopify NFT Event
Vinyl Transformed Wall of Lala Kent Pop Up
Transforming the entrance wall of I know NIGO x Victor Victor Pop Up with Vinyl
Vinyl Transformed Wall of Pudgy Penguins Pop Up
Artificial Wall with Vinyl for Etudes Pop Up
As one can see, even a simple full-wall vinyl graphic would have been better than the bare tapestry the event organizers used to portray their 'imagination lab.' The remarkable aspect of our team is that we could have actually employed the exact same AI-generated posters/graphics to recreate the walls or tunnels with standoffs and vinyl. Furthermore, with the advent of digital signage, interactive screens could have significantly enhanced the user experience. While Audrey Signs is not an event design or management company, we genuinely believe that our expertise in Experiential Graphics Design could have completely transformed the 'Willy Wonka Experience.' The next time you or someone you know needs help with a pop-up event, please reach out to us to prevent another Willy Wonka Fiasco.
